Tandil, a city of hills with a history

At only 360 kilometers from the Federal Capital of Argentina stands in the middle of the pampas a city surrounded by mountains called Tandil. This city is part of a mountain system called Tandilia which consists of elevations arranged in short cords and separated not exceed 400 meters above the sea level.

Tandil was always a town that has been known for its tourist attractions. In the early twentieth century was one of the cities most visited by locals along the shores of the Delta del Tigre. No doubt, within the most outstanding attractions include walks through the Movediza Hill, the Sentinel and the Calvary. Book your dream Kissimmee area holidays here with Florida Holidays

The first, the Movediza Hill has become a famous site as part of the granite-block "stone Movediza" - remained for years in constant motion. Finally in 1912 fell into the void and broke into pieces. Today you can visit this site through a meticulously reconstructed path until you reach the peak. There you can see on top a giant replica of the rock and just a few feet below the original block party.

The other ride that you can not miss is the Cerro Centinela. There you can climb to the summit via a chair lift, then walk a nature trail that leads to an old quarry. We recommend this tour for those who do have their eyes open and you can find native animals such as snakes, foxes, owls, and so on.

Finally, we can not fail to mention that Tandil has its greatest number of visitors at Easter by having the city nearby Mount Calvary. This one is reached after crossing an upward path, along which are arranged sculptures that make up the fourteen Stations of the Cross.

Tandil is also locally known as a major gastronomic center, and here you can get the cheese and salami richest province of Buenos Aires. Undoubtedly worth a visit Age of Cheese, a restaurant in which tourists can enjoy a delicious bite of cold cuts in an old house with no chamfer near the center of the city.
